About the Guest Speaker:
Dr. Nina Joy Mena is an Atlanta-based community psychiatrist, author, podcaster, and motivational speaker dedicated to addressing mental health issues and ending the stigma of mental illness in the Black Community. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Mena is double board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, with medical licenses to practice in eleven states. 

Currently, Dr. Mena is the Chief Medical Officer at CHRIS 180, where she provides compassionate care across all ages. As the founder of NJoy LIFE Living In Full Empowerment, LLC, and host of the Journey to Joy Live podcast, Dr. Mena promotes mental wellness, resilience, and joy through her motivational speaking and private practice. 

She is also the author of NJoyNAL Nurturing Authentic Living: A Journal and Therapy Companion Using the INSPIRE-Joy Method, released in August 2024, further solidifying her impact in the fields of psychiatry and community empowerment.

Dr. O went on to finish her Family Medicine Residency from Albert Einstein College of Medicine Family Medicine residency where she also served as a Chief Resident. She then went on to complete a women’s health/surgical obstetrics fellowship at St Francis hospital in 2011. She is a board-certified Family Physician, Lifestyle Medicine, a HIV specialist and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
