She came to see me
Wheezing
We fixed it
Nebulizer treatment
Discussed at home remedies for the cough
And plans over the next few days to keep on the up and up ..
Then she paused
“I just wanted to tell you”
“Thank you “
She continued… (I let her)
“I’ve never had a doctor motivate me to improve my health the way you have… “
I was going to push aside the compliments so I could go on to the next patient…
I had hugged her earlier
Then I paused
At team huddle this morning we talked about ways to feed our joy ..
One was sitting in and smiling from the heart at compliments sandwiched in the day
(yes sandwiched… sounds more delicious than sprinkled)..
“Doc, it’s not your responsibility to motivate me but I’m so thankful you do”
11 pounds down
More glow in skin
More pep in step
More energy
I smiled!
Thank you for the feedback!
