What are your health goals for 2023?
We started asking that since before 2022 ends..
In the clinic..
To start prepping for the new year
Why not get a head start?
She:
“Um get better BP?”
Not what you think you want me to hear
For real … what 3 goals do you have for your new year? Health wise … I added
“ I wanna feel better doc”
“I wanna lose this weight”
“I wanna get off these meds ”
I took notes in the chart
great!
What are 2-3 things you can do for each item … for real…
That you can commit to doing …
And how can I help you reach them?
we discussed starting with a health coach - an accountability partner to help nudge you virtually on your health goals
we discussed 2 ”ten” minute exercises while at work … timed and all
we negotiated sleep time up from 5.5 hrs to 7hrs
We discussed medication adjustments
Timelines
And follow up
She beamed
“I think I can do this doc”
Oh I bet you can!
Rooting for you,
Dr. O
