Grief…
The pain of a loved one gone
A life cut short perhaps before his time
I could only hug her
She found him
We cried and prayed
Months, years later it hurts… still
"Everyone else seems to have gone on with life” she laments
“I haven’t”
We talk continued leaning in to support systems …
And asking for what you need
She recants hurtful words that challenge her to speed up her grieving process
I hold my peace
She agrees to occasional check ins
Simple calls to say I care…
This is a “check in” post
Please “check in” on those who’ve lost loved ones
Sometimes they are STILL not okay
A simple text saying “I’m thinking of you today”
A talking emoji to cheer
A voice note
An email
A virtual hug
Something that communicates care!
If you’re not sure, ask them!
Ask them to help you help them!
Let the healing continue.
