Flowers and Brown Rice

She brought me flowers and some brown rice

I’m not kidding

She had read one of our Facebook posts

The one about brown rice

And actually tried it

She then brought me a bag with flowers

I smiled

“I’m here because I read your post”

“I actually tried brown rice

Not as bad as I had imagined”

“I used spices I typically cook with to season them”
She continued

I told her my own tricks too

How I make mine with tomato based stew and spices like curry, thyme, ginger, cilantro and habanero

Why my “obsession” with brown rice?

It has more fiber, more nutrients and is a healthier alternative to white rice.

Also because it can help with diabetes and make for less need for more medications

So here’s to you… to us making better health changes … brown rice included
