Pap pap pap!

Me: Knock knock

Her: hi doc

Me: “you’re here for your Pap smear
yayyyy!!!”

Her: yayyy? doc

Me: doing a dance with a “raise-the roof” to de-stress
the process …

“Yup we gonna check to make sure there are NO changes
to your cervix that could lead to cervical cancer”

Her: I hate these

Me: I know… they are not exactly exciting to do
but good to

I can sing if it’ll help you relax

Her: can you sing?

Me: let’s see

Okay breathe… I’ll talk you through the process …

We talk about who invented the Pap smear…

Why it’s called Pap smear

(Pap done)

Her: that wasn’t bad

Me: I’m proud of you for doing the necessary even with
how inconvenient it was

Her: yeah I haven’t done it in 10 years

Me: you’re here!

There you have it!

Pap smears are recommended starting at age 21 to
check for cervical cancer or for changes to the cervix
that can lead to cancer if not managed on time.

What’s your cervix?

Well, it’s a part of the female reproductive system.

I’ll explain more candidly at your well woman exam
I have a “show and tell” for it too.
