Doctor Visits

Him: Doc, I saw the specialist

Me: which one?

Him: The Kidney doctor

Me: What did she say?

Him: *staring*

Me: what are you looking at?

Him: didn’t he send you a note?

Me: well not yet

Him: oh! He said something about my kidneys.
Doc what should I do?
What meds should I avoid?
Will I need dialysis?

Me: did you ask the nephrologist (kidney doctor) these questions?

Him: no doc

Me: how come?

Him: didn’t want to bother him

Me: hmm

Step 1: have a list of questions on your phone note or note pad (be sure to tell the assistant as well that you have questions)

Step 2: take a picture of your meds ( not the color of pills but name, strength and frequency of the meds)
